Mother's Day 2022

Our internet was out yesterday morning and the afternoon got away from me. . .so here's a Weekend Round-up on a Tuesday :). This is my current situation -- a few peonies from our backyard (they smell so  good!) and a surprise Starbucks from Erin this morning.  I sent her out for lunch yesterday while I was finishing up a tennis practice match and she dropped my milkshake on her way through the lobby at the fitness club. This was her making it up to me :) I very much want to create an office in our house but need the job first to justify taking up the space :). I'm being picky in my job search because I can (for now).  I'm getting used to the ebb-and-flow of the days and now measure any opportunities against, "would I be willing to give up my tennis groups for this job?".  There are some things that have come along that would have been an easy "yes" if I would have been the "right" person for the company/position but I have to say, very few ;).

Friday Favorites - Springtime, the Lake, and Graduates!

It's a rainy, stormy Friday here in East Tennessee.  Believe it or not, that is OK with me today.  We've had a very sun-shiney week and need the rain.  Plus, it's supposed to clear up for a beautiful Mother's Day weekend so I'll just do some "nesting" here at home today. As always, I'm linking up with   Andrea   and   Erika   for some favorites from the week.  Please feel free to link up or just comment on the post if you don't blog.   We made it out to the lake together on Saturday!!  It was a gorgeous day but my allergies were NUTS.  We finally had to come in after three hours because of me :( The doggie got to go with us too. . .but this will be her last trip.  (1) she's getting old and (2) her nervousness/anxiety in the 2-hr drive there about sent Tom over the edge.  She really does like being on the water though! At one point, the dog was laying on the towel and Erin was sitting on the rocks -- ha! It's garden season!! This is NOT my g

Prime Purchases - May 2022

I stumbled upon a new-to-me blog today and she is doing a Prime Purchases link-up so I thought I'd join in :). I'm not a huge  online shopper but have gotten a bit more comfortable with it over the last 6 months or so.  I'd still rather go into the store for my groceries, clothes, and gifts but the selections seem to not be what they once were and sometimes, with gas prices the way they are, it just doesn't make sense to drive when you can have it delivered.  Who would have ever thought??? Anyway, here is a look back at some of my purchases this last month: Do you use Amazon Smile ?  If you currently do not, I encourage you to check it out.  Even though it's only "pennies", those pennies DO add up for your favorite school/charity/team and make a difference.  I've seen the difference it makes on our Cedar Lake Camp budget sheets. Anyhow, here are some Prime, as well as Etsy and other purchases, this past month: Apparently someone in our family ordered
