Family Lake Trip 2023

First it was this crew (and more . .Tom, Laura's friend, Robert's 3 friends, Erin's friend). . .and then it was this crew plus Ellie was still there with Robert and Kathy was on the trip with us but not out with us for this meal.  Without permission I'll post an Ellie and Robert pic: Ellie told me she loved this one (I do too) so hopefully asking for forgiveness instead of permission will work this time??? We had gone out the last night for a sunset cruise and I caught a picture of Kathy then :) It was a bit chilly. . .when the boat was moving we were all wrapped up.  So strange to have cool weather in August - fall is in the air kind of early this year! We began our trip last Friday afternoon with a full truck out of Knoxville to Dale Hollow Lake! My sister and niece were the first two to arrive. . .then Laura and her friend and Erin and her friend showed up. We called an audible and, instead of eating the food I had prepared for dinner that night, we went to Sulpher C

Friday Favorites (and not favorites) - August 11, 2023

  Happy Friday All!!!  So many bloggers out there had first days of school this week as did our county.  I miss/don't miss those days.  They were exciting, exhausting, and just a lot - new beginnings, a measure of time passing, and routine, which I   love .  Our last two at the University of Tennessee don't start for another couple weeks so we're still enjoying summer around here, with no routine ;) As usual, I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea for weekly Friday Favorites.  We had a FAVORITE trip last weekend with FAVORITE people, only to have an EF2 tornado hit right outside our neighborhood Monday and our FAVORITE boat dock at Dale Hollow Lake burn down last night.  Sigh.  What a week! As I mentioned in last week's post , a group of us that met in Greece at the beginning of the summer got together for a weekend at the lake! !  Connie was our picture-taker. . . so thankful for all the memories she captured!! Saturday one of the families rented a pontoon (they we
