Share 4 Somethings - January 2026

On the last Saturday of the month, we will meet here to talk about something we loved, something that sustained us, something we're carrying forward from this month to the next, and something we're making space for.

This is not a post I have attempted before and generally enjoy reading other bloggers lists, so I'm going to try to reflect on the month and see if I have anything to share :)

This date with Tom - it was something I had been looking forward to for a long time and it didn't disappoint :)
I loved watching them navigate their first month of marriage - supporting one another (her dream to run in the Disney marathon, he's struggling with some new health issues that require a strict diet that she is learning about), learning to live together, and figuring out who they are separate from the families they were born into.  It is a JOY to be parents in their lives!
This girl and her doggie - love them both so much and although she is ready to launch into adulting, selfishly it's not a bad deal for me that they are still living here and will be through Tax Season.  Her life, starting this week, will consist mostly of work until April 15th - the nature of being a tax accountant.
Awww. . .speaking of doggies. . .they are on the inside looking out here!!  Thirteen years old on the left, two years old on the right.
I LOVE this Saturday morning pickleball group SO much!!!  This was actually New Year's Day so only about half the crowd that generally shows up - great way to start the year.  This and tennis are the two things that I "need" in my life.
Hmmm. . .well. . .I'll start where I ended - pickleball and tennis sustained me.  This was last Saturday, prior to the storm that was supposed to bury us (false alarm!) - I took a picture of all us "crazies" who wanted to make sure we got some pickleball in before we "might" be snowed in for a week - ha!
My heated blanket sustains me through these COLD winter months. . .and my link to the "outside" world - my blogs and the ones I read regularly (on my sidebar if you are interested in who I follow).
A picture of me under my blanket where I spent too many hours in the winter, either blogging (what I'm doing right this minute) or watching a show with Tom.
Coworkers who understand what I'm passionate about and send me things they find online that they think I will like:
Other things that sustain me on a daily basis -
* my daily vitamins
* getting outside with the dogs
* knowing I have a family that loves and supports me
* God's Word
* MUSIC - I appreciate my Spotify account so much!!
* "something to do" - I'm not good without a plan - ha!
* a pretty good workday morning routine
Tom and I have tried a few intentional date nights and weekend coffee house visits - I hope we keep those up - trying to be intentional together.
I've blogged quite a bit this month - I'd like to keep that up!  (These are all linked if you're interested.)
Continue learning/growing/building relationships at work - I've been challenged with a few new things this month and hope to stay as busy/productive next month too :)
We (Tom & I) want to try to make it down to Chattanooga once a month this year - got down there in January, this month may be a bit trickier (weekends a little more full for us) but something we'll try to do.  Here we were in January:
I think I've either already mentioned these things above, but this is a good "low level goals" list I guess :)
* Continue date nights and/or weekend coffee dates out of the house with Tom
* Chattanooga once a month (although February might be tough - will be hosting a birthday party here)
* Blogging and reading/listening to books
* Watching season 3 of one of my favorite series, The Guilded Age
* Monthly birthday dinners!  I didn't mention this yet, but we had our FIRST dinner this past week and we're off to a great start with some new ladies and "comfortableness" with those that came back for another year :)
We only had ONE this month - there are four of us next month (last year it was only me and one other - so glad we've added two more February ladies to our group!)
Thanks, Jenn, for the link-up this cold Saturday morning.  We *finally* got a "little" snow last night!!
With temps staying in the 20's today and cloudy, doubt any of this will go away this weekend.  We have NO plans since we were supposed to be in FL - my brother texted last night and they have a chance of flurries in Tampa!! - so we'll see what the weekend turns into around here.  It's not supposed to be sunny or above freezing until Monday so kiddos and teachers around here might have another 3-day weekend :)
Happy Saturday,
Love,
Jenni
