Friday Favorites - December 2025 This & That

I really loved my Christmas tree this year - in fact, it's still up.  A FAVORITE in the month of December.
I don't do a theme, rather, most every ornament has a story or a reason for being there.
Including this little guy, made from a walnut shell from my dear friend, Jerry's, yard.  He made me one last year and the handle broke while it was stored so this year he not only made me a replacement, but a box to store the replacements (I think there were 4?) in!!!  These are a treasure to me because he is a treasure to me.
Linking up with Andrea and Erika - it's been a minute since I've checked in with many bloggers (including them) so this will be fun!
Happy New Year!!
Besides the wedding and one of the biggest holidays of the year, there were other things to look back on during the last month that were FAVORITES:

Flowers in my windowsill :)
Both gifts, both seasonal, both bringing joy every day.
I love fresh blooms in my house.
I love Christmas lights!!!  We made it out to our local park to walk around once the weather warmed up a bit - although we did this after Christmas, it was still magical and beautiful.

Pickleball with some of my family the day after Christmas!!  Nana and Grandpa are still fierce competitors out there - it was fun playing with Ellie, Laura, and Robert too.  So happy they found time to play together with me :). (Tom's knee is swollen - he was with us, but just cheering us on)

We have a FAVORITE New Year's Eve tradition of going out to dinner with Tommy & Barbara:
The outside pictures - either eyes were closed or both people weren't looking - oh well.
This year we went to Connor's Steak & Seafood - some of us had steak, some of us had seafood. Perfect way to end the year.

Forever and always a FAVORITE - these people that are "mine" on this earth.
I am looking forward to what is in store for all of us - together and separately - in 2026 :)

Short and sweet this week - I worked all day today and we are celebrating a tennis friend's retirement tonight!  Maybe the tree will come down this weekend. . .maybe it won't.  Ellie had a birthday Monday and we'll go to Chattanooga to celebrate her Sunday :). Happy First Weekend of 2026!!
Love,
Jenni

  1. Awww, your tree is so pretty; I love ornaments that tell a story. Most of the ones on our main tree, do too. The tree and rag tag assortment of meaningful ornaments are not pinterest or magazine worthy but that is A-ok. Your family pictures from the wedding are so good!! What a way to start the month and what a way to end it- with good friends eating good food ushering in a new year. Have a great weekend!

  2. I love your dress from your son's wedding! Our tree is the same full of homemade, memorable moments years and travels, and I love it. Ours is still up too and we have our grandkids coming today to spend the night so I know it won't come down before tomorrow or Monday. I'm fine with that. Happy new year!

    1. Hope it was a good time with the littles :). We did get our tree down earlier than I would probably have chosen, but I do live with people who were "done" with it and I had it almost an entire month so all is well. I know now that I will make time to put it up again next year though.

  3. Your tree really is beautiful! I love the theme is random and made up of reasons and memories. The lights in the park look fab and the pickleball sounds like great fun! I hope Tom's knee is better now.
    Happy New Year!

    1. Turns out the knee is arthritis - just another sign of age I guess. Thanks for stopping by - it was a good month and I'm glad I got to share it :)
