Yep, that's where I am. . .just "getting through" January (and February and March and April). . .to get to BOATING SEASON - ha! I saw this graphic several years ago and came across it last night in my January photo collections - time to share again!!!
Thank you,
Andrea and
Erika, for the Friday Favorites link-up. This makes me look back on my week, month, year, life and show all that I have to be grateful for and makes me intentional during the week to NOTICE (word of the year) things around me.
Not many pictures this week. . .it's January after all :/

Lunch or dinner one night this week - couldn't even tell you which it was. When I'm not in the office I try really hard to take a "lunch break" and make something hot and read a book, blogs or something that's NOT work-related. Meals are simple these days - we don't really eat together during the week because the timing rarely works. I do love some time by myself each day:)

Sincerely, he could be my Picture of the Day every day :)

This is the room I work out of when I'm at home - he just follows the sun all.day.long. Spoiled and loved.

There are two podcasts I mark my week by - Monday morning I listen to the
Lazy Genius and Thursday morning I listen to
Melanie and Sophie. This bonus episode dropped at some point and I listened to it on my drive to one of our branch locations yesterday - so glad they recorded this one!! I believe they talked a little bit about the "reverse new years' resolutions" too - "things I won't do" :)

This was a neat surprise in the mail this week. I have been reading
Jennifer Skinner's Five Friday Favorites for years and years. She moved over to Substack (I have
lots of thoughts -
Amy has mentioned in my comments she does too and I think they are the same) but because I love her writing I do go to Substack to read them. (But now
in linking this, I realize she puts them on her webpage too - good to know.). Anyway, she was giving away a couple of copies of this book she contributed to and I was one of the lucky ones :). I read her essay as soon as I got it - loved it. It was a letter to her grandmother and memories she had and how much has changed about HOW we worship (vs when she was younger and what Grandma taught/modeled) and how full that Banquet Table may be when she gets there to join her someday. I loved it.

I only have 5 snowmen so it limits me on talking points - I need those kinds of boundaries in my life :).

Stephen stopped by on Sunday after church for lunch and then we got Nana and Grandpa to stay a little longer to play cards. Nana "doesn't remember" euchre as well as she used to so Stephen said they would play together. It was them and me against Tom and Grandpa. . .they ended up winning in the last hand - it was a pretty close game. Stephen blames it on me - and he should. He and I don't use the same strategies - he's able to reason on a level completely outside of my capacity - ha!
Time to log on my other computer and get started on the last day of the week for me - it's been a good one for the most part. I put in a couple of early mornings this week so I could log off early to go to Crossville to play tennis with my Cookeville friend again - this time I'm bringing two Knoxville friends with me :). I've got a 3-day weekend (bankers' hours still amaze me that they are
real) - not much planned, but I'm o.k. with that. STILL have a few blogs to catch up on as well as podcasts and
Tanya linked lots of good shows to consider. . .it's January after all. . .a small indulgence for these shorter, colder days, right?
Love,
Jenni
