October Friday Favorites

I can't believe it's already the third Saturday in October tomorrow - seriously, where has this month GONE???
I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika today to share some Friday Favorites - I'm not sure what all I'll be sharing - it can be a surprise to us all!!
These cute number images!!  I have tried to make cute things in PPT or Canva and then convert them here. . .Wednesday night I just decided to see what I could find online.  I haven't used Teachers Pay Teachers for so long but the site is such a great resource - and I also feel like I'm supporting small business too.
Speaking of buying online and supporting small business - I ordered this print from Etsy last week (and then bought a $3 frame from Walmart for it):
I know the glare is bad. . .a friend of mine lost his mother last week and he sent me the YouTube video of the song they were going to play at her funeral.  I had never heard it before - stunning.  I found this seller to print it on this beautiful paper and gave it to him at lunch Thursday.
I realized this week I never posted any of Ellie & Robert's engagement pictures anywhere.  I wanted to print one up and saw they were all still loaded into a shared album.  I picked some of my favorites:
We've got some busy weekends coming up - bachelor weekend, wedding shower, bridesmaid's trip. . .Thanksgiving and then the wedding!!
Invitations were sent out last week and the RSVP's are coming in :)

I have a new haircut and color. . .figured I needed to do it now so I was comfortable with it for the wedding - I have my touch-up appointment booked for the Tuesday before!

Somedays nothing makes me happier than pulling into my driveway and seeing pretty flowers in my urn:

And then you walk up to my front door and wonder what season is it really???
I just can't pull them up - they are so pretty and full!!  And our grass looks great because of the rainy, rainy summer.
I went down a rabbit hole this week when Joyce mentioned doing a Day in the Life linkup in November.  I always love reading them and have written some in the past too.  As I was reading that one, I noticed that my day Wednesday started similarly as that day in May 2017:
I left a comment on my own post - kind of reminiscing and remembering and following up on "where we are now".  There were some links in that post that led me to Glimpses of Our New Life, when we moved here from Cookeville, TN.  I shared it on our family group chat - I had a lot of pictures/memories of people we still, at the very least, follow on social media.  One of the friends that Laura is pictured with in that post is related to Robert's fiancee!  Such a small world :).
I wrote the following at the end of this post, where I was showing off the house that was on the market:

In that conclusion I was letting go of the house we had made a home for almost nine years.  Unbeknownst to us, we would end up owning it for another 6 (??) years although it would not be a place for "us" to live - the family God had chosen for that house then were people we knew in the community who needed a home but could only rent at the time.  The next time it was empty it never went on the market - our realtor friend sold it in one day to a family that wanted to move to the area to be near their growing family.  See??  It's all God's anyway, for us to enjoy and Him to offer us to use in the life.
I'm so happy to have these records of life, y'know?  That last link is from 2012 - I had just turned 40!
We've got (from left to right) a biomedical engineer who works on Austin Peay's campus with Chi Alpha, a business (finance maybe?) graduate who works in commercial real estate development, an accountant who IS an accountant, a mechanical engineer (still), a teacher who is now a leadership development specialist for a bank, and another (civil) engineer who owns a lawn business and started a junk business who is about to become Ellie's husband.  Who could have guessed???  Where will we be when I'm 66?
This is the funniest post I have read and/or seen on social media or any blog in a long, long time.  I have been following Amy for years and am so impressed with how much content she puts out.  I very much relate to her and she inspires me (poor thing had the longest comment from me yesterday) - let me know if you laugh until you cry like I did when you read it!
Connie did post her birthday brunch pictures - here we all are (Stephen included!)  And then she snapped one of the three of us when we were leaving Top Golf. . .
Love these friends the Lord has put into our lives!!
Trying to use all of my new numbers. . .
My brother sending me a picture from the Michigan-Wisconson game a couple weeks ago was a favorite!!!  Even better was him saying that Neyland was much louder and his favorite place to watch a game :)
We introduced him to this experience a couple years ago
My siblings are my favorites
And there you go - October Friday Favorites :)
Off to play in the USTA 7.5 40+ women's combo state tournament starting today - really hoping to get the "W" in this one!!  And hoping to stun CFB with a W on Saturday too :)
Also, yesterday marked one year since I gave notice at the accounting firm and accepted the position I'm currently in at the bank.  It's hard to believe how quickly it has gone by!!
Hope it's a good weekend for all -
Love,
Jenni

  1. Thank you for the sweetest shoutout! I love your numbers and I really need to learn to do graphics. My son made my blog header on Canva and that's why I can't change it. It was a Christmas gift and the sweetest gesture.
I almost feel like a different person when I look back on different stages of life. So, I can relate. I love DITL posts.
Love your new hair. You have an exciting fall with so many fun celebratory things. Gorgeous engagement photos. Ours was just a headshot way back when. I love how they are so natural and fun now.
Happy Friday to you! May it be filled with good things! We have some bad weather coming our way!

    1. That is really sweet, that your kiddos know that your blog is important to you and make you something for it :). Canva is SUPER simple to use - I pay for a different service for work and, like all the streaming services, just don't want to have too many things on my CC each month. You could make a MINT creating things for TPT for Spanish teachers if you learned the software I bet.
Don't mention this cold front coming through! I'm going to live it up at the lake Saturday with the projected 81 degrees and then I'll face "real fall" I guess.

  2. This month has gone far too quickly!!
Those numbers are very cute and what a thoughtful gift for your friend.
Beautiful photos of the happy couple and what an exciting time!
Your new hair looks great and those flowers are so pretty!
I read Amy's post too and laughed all the way through, kids do say the darndest things.
    Good luck with the tournament!

  3. The new hair cut and color looks great! I love looking back with my blog, and also wonder sometimes where I'll be in the next 10-20 years. What an amazing story about that house. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  4. Enjoyed your prettily numbered list of favorites- such good ones! Love the engagement pictures- beautiful couple for sure! Your haircut and color look great- both are very becoming. You guys have so many *big* events coming up before the end of the year! Hopefully you can be focused and organized and chill enough to enjoy the events AND somehow find the time to document them all on the blog :). I´m not sure I could achieve any of those but I know you can!! Good luck with tennis and football this weekend :).
