Happy Friday All!!! So many bloggers out there had first days of school this week as did our county. I miss/don't miss those days. They were exciting, exhausting, and just a lot - new beginnings, a measure of time passing, and routine, which I love. Our last two at the University of Tennessee don't start for another couple weeks so we're still enjoying summer around here, with no routine ;)
As usual, I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea for weekly Friday Favorites. We had a FAVORITE trip last weekend with FAVORITE people, only to have an EF2 tornado hit right outside our neighborhood Monday and our FAVORITE boat dock at Dale Hollow Lake burn down last night. Sigh. What a week!
As I mentioned in last week's post, a group of us that met in Greece at the beginning of the summer got together for a weekend at the lake!! Connie was our picture-taker. . . so thankful for all the memories she captured!!Saturday one of the families rented a pontoon (they were going to bring their boat but it was still in the shop) and my boys and two of their friends came out to join us for the morning. We had a great time - tubing, skiing, encouraging the "older folks" to try both. . .one got up on skis, another gave it a go, and Becky, grandmother of 5, went tubing!!! I don't even get out there on those -- woohoo!!!
First time in a long, long time skiing behind a boat :)
Later we found the goats that live on one of the islands and Susan and Connie got out to feed them some celery and carrots :).
All of us that stayed in an AirB&B close by
We spent the last day on the lake, just enjoying our time together (and some mimosas to round out the morning)
Here's to friendship, sunshine, water, and the Vols ;)One last photo before sending the Ohioans on their way and the rest of us heading out for another couple hours.
We lost - boo - but always have fun playing together.
This match was the night after an EF2 tornado hit right outside our neighborhood. Erin was the first one to come home and was probably here even before emergency services, texting us that she couldn't get into the neighborhood. Here are some pictures we took walking home - we had to park about 1/2 mile away and walk home. . .an apartment complex down the street completely lost its roof
First look at our neighborhood as we walked home
Again, lots of property damage (5 miles I think?) but no lives lost.

Happy Weekend!!
