Friday Favorites (on a Saturday in September)

Well.  Life has really picked up speed around here!!  I'm not looking at blogs everyday anymore and then I sit down and realize how long it's been since I've checked in with my Favorites list on my right sidebar or even updated my material.  I'll attempt to make this short and sweet with a couple of weeks worth of pictures I dumped my phone last night before heading to bed -- at midnight!!!
Of all my pictures. . .this is the easiest favorite :)  All my kiddies at home.  We picked Thomas up at 1230 on Saturday and he left again at 4 p.m. Sunday but no matter what, a momma's heart is happiest when we are all together.

We have an incredibly talented and generous dad on our HS team that takes pictures of all the athletes and posts them for us to use.  What a gift it is to enjoy the games and still have pics to look at afterwards :)
Soccer, soccer all the time!  The season is almost over. . .Margaret informed us last night that she has made a goal in every regulation-timed game this season.  Wow!!  Last night Marie put the team on the board and Margaret scored the final shot -- all really good plays using a lot of passing skill.  So proud of these girls and their transition this year and Marie's leadership, as a junior, on the JV team.
Quick dinner out after a weeknight game
And this guy played his first HS match this week!!  His coach sent a picture of each player (there are 6 playing in a JTT fall league sponsored by our local organization) last night -- what a neat thing to do!  He looks all twisted up in this photo but it's actually a pretty good shot that he has -- he and his partner won their match easily 8-0.  We have five more fall season matches coming up.
Chelsea is still getting out. . .just not nearly as much as before. . .I hate that for her!!!  The picture is from the other night -- at 8 p.m.!!  We weren't at the park with the dock, though, because it's too far in the quickening darkness of the fall. . .:(
Tom had a birthday (finally caught up to me!) and we had an "adults only" night out at Lakeside Tavern.  That creme brulee cheesecake dessert was the absolute BEST dessert I've ever had -- aside from something homemade by someone who loves me.
We did a full-on birthday dinner, complete with gifts and kids, later that week at our favorite after-church Mexican place -- full table = full heart.
The girls pitched in to get him and Frederick a game system. . .Frederick bought him some tennis clothes, and Thomas got him a University t-shirt.  I put this collage together for him for his office -- I was in there recently and all of his pictures are OLD.  His parents also gave him checks for four private tennis lessons in October -- he is becoming some real competition out there on the court!

Marie and Frederick made Tom this *awesome* birthday gluten-free carrot cake.  Even though the restaurant dessert was fabulous, I would still pick this cake over that -- it was that good.  Don't worry, Mom, we've already put in an order for one for you at Christmas. . .

My new view 25 hours a week now.  I really, really like it.  I am working with great people, have a LOT to learn. . .I'm very excited to see where this direction takes me.  I'm already a part of the team. . .such a different life. . .

Between studying for some securities licenses and starting a new year of BSF my early mornings are necessary to get some work done :)

Lastly, since this is supposed to be a "Friday Favorites" and not a "Life Lately" (hahahaha) post -- this is a FAVORITE from this last week for many reasons.  (1) we got to cuddle and read together; (2) this is a school book so I get to know what he is learning/reading about and enjoy it with him; (3) it was a Picture of the Day that was widely commented on. . .someone who commented mentioned that she would like to be able to do this with her boys. . .so we are sending her some books!!!  The girls, Tom, and I had fun picking some out that we always enjoyed to send to her little ones -- those will get in the mail today :)

And that's it for this Saturday morning. . .Frederick and Tom left for a haircut and McDonald's at 7:30. . .I've been blogging and ate a quick breakfast this last hour. . .now it's time to wake the girls and head to the fields for another soccer game!  They are in a local JV tournament this weekend -- this is the first time, ever, we have been sad to see a HS season come to an end.  The team is playing together so very well, the coaching is really, really good (and engaged) and we have seen the girls really excel on the field.  OK. . .one more favorite. . .
They had tickets to their first-ever UT game two weeks ago. . .

Love,
Jenni
