POTD 12.31.12

Frederick got a root beer making kit from Santa this year.  He hauled it all the way up to Nana & Grandpa's house but then they didn't have a gallon jug to use so back it came. . .he finally had a chance to make it Monday.  Marie and Frederick did it together and Margaret designed the label.  She spent quite a bit of time with different styles and getting votes around the house on which to use.  Very, very cute.

It had to stay "bottled" for 12 hours so the kids broke into it at 10 p.m. New Year's Eve.  It tasted like sweet water. . .with a heavy root beer flavor.  Nice try. . .they/the kit was trying to get the carbonation with the yeast that was added.  Maybe someone will take this on as a science fair project this year -- it could be a fun one!
