Time Capsule

I thought a time capsule might be fun to do together this year. I took all the kids' pictures, weighed and measured them, had them write their ABC's and answer some random questions. . .What is your favorite meal? What would you like to do for your birthday party this year? What are you studying in school right now? Who are your best friends? If you had three wishes, what would they be?
Thomas: My three best friends are Devin, Jack, and Jordan
Marie: My favorite meal is steak, mashed potatoes, corn, and peanutbutter pie.
Margaret: If I had three wishes it would be for more craft stuff, a bigger room to put my craft stuff in, and more craft stuff.

Frederick: I want to go to that indoor waterpark place by Dollywood for my birthday this year.

I also want to time them running around the house three times but it has been WAY TOO COLD for that. Part of the competitive spirit they all have. One more thing I'd like to do is take pictures around the house. . .I think sometimes we do "little things" and all these little things add up and we forget about them. Plus it's good to do once in awhile for insurance purposes :) I also remember reading at the millennium people saying to take pictures of the inside of your refrigerator and things like that. . .maybe a stack of magazines laying around. Anyway, we'll gather a few more things and get this done. I'd like to put all of this in an envelope and pack it away with this last miscellaneous Christmas box that is still sitting in our living room.

We had a crazy school day today and I expect more of them. . .where we live, if it SMELLS like snow they cancel school. . .this morning there was snow on the ground and blowing around and they still had school! I checked three different sources before getting the kids up and moving this morning. . .I just couldn't believe it. Then, what do you know, I started getting phone calls around 11:30 saying they were letting school out early. The snow had stopped, the roads were clear, and it was about 10 degrees warmer. Go figure. It's so frustrating to turn all the daily tasks around to get home to get the kids. . .but then we had a fun afternoon. . .Thomas had a friend over, then we all went to the YMCA to swim -- well the kids swam, I didn't -- but I did get to go to a muscle sculpting class so that was great. We were already in town and Tom was off work by then so headed to Sam's Club for my weekly shopping (what had been interrupted by the "school's out" phone call) and we just ordered a pizza while we were there and ate -- perfect!!!

After dropping the kids off this morning I played tennis, toured a friend's house that she is remodeling, and had lunch with a good friend. This weekend I joined The Company Girls over at Home Sanctuary. Go check it out if you haven't before. . .Rachel Anne gives daily challenges to help us make our homes more of a sanctuary for our families. Today's challenge was to fill up a kitchen trash bag with stuff to take out of the house. I wish I could have gotten more than one done, but I guess I have to be at HOME to do things around the house!!! I'm happy to have the videos and Leap Pad stuff out of the kids' stash though.

Time to spend Monday night watching This Old House with Tom. We only get one station. . .and luckily it airs this gem of a show!
